This page explains how Talentack handles personal information across profiles, hiring briefs and the everyday use of the directory. It applies to anyone browsing or publishing on talentack.com, whether you are a freelancer in Durban, a studio lead in Cape Town or a hiring manager reviewing shortlists from Pretoria.
Profile fields you fill in yourself: role focus, seniority band, tools, project history, availability windows and references. Contact form entries, including your name, email address, phone number and the message you send. If you write a brief to a candidate, we store the brief text and the reply thread so both sides can find it later.
When you load a page we record standard technical details: browser type, device category, approximate region, referring page and timestamps. We use cookies and similar storage for session handling, remembering filter settings and measuring which profile sections get read. Analytics events are aggregated; they are not used to build advertising profiles of individual visitors.
To publish your profile as you wrote it, to route hiring briefs to the right people, to keep the directory free of duplicate or misleading entries, and to answer support requests. We also use aggregated usage data to decide which skill clusters and filters are worth improving. We do not sell personal data, and we do not pass profile content to recruiters outside the platform without your brief being sent first.
Limited third parties help us run the site: hosting and storage providers, an email delivery service for notifications, and analytics tooling. They process data on our instructions and under contract. If a legal request or a security incident requires disclosure, we share only what is necessary and, where allowed, tell the affected account holder.
Profiles stay live while your account is active. If you close it, the profile is unpublished and removed from search within a short window, while backup copies age out on a rolling schedule. Brief threads and support correspondence are kept only as long as needed to resolve the matter or meet record-keeping duties.
You can ask for a copy of your data, request corrections to inaccurate fields, have your profile deleted, or receive your content in a portable format. You may withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time without losing access to the directory. Where GDPR or CCPA applies to you, the same requests are handled under those frameworks, including the right to object to certain processing.
Profiles on Talentack are written by the people they describe. We do not fabricate endorsements, invent client names, imply official partnerships or guarantee hiring outcomes. Availability windows and references are self-reported and may change; verify anything critical before you commit to a brief. If you spot a listing that misrepresents skills, ownership or experience, report it and we will review it.
